What did you think of The Children's Book? I read it a couple of months back, and I liked it but didn't love it the way I have some of Byatt's books.

Oh, and how was Author, Author? I usually love David Lodge.

I found The Children's Book interesting, a huge collection of information about the fin de siècle. But the story and characters let me fairly cold, I have to admit.

Author, Author was funny, because it was set during the same time as The Children's Book. I loved the first half of it, I loved Henry's struggles with envy. But it could have been a fair bit shorter, as towards the end the book starts rambling.
