Ways to help Katrina victims

When I read news reports about the devastation in the Gulf, I get a little overwhelmed. I keep getting choked up and teary. It's just scary. I want to help, but it's not like i can just pack up and move to the area to help. I don't exactly have a lot of money. I plan on giving money and probably blood. i tried to schedule an appointment today for allen and i to go give blood saturday. i'm hoping they'll call me back tomorrow.

i read that mess last night.
i do think the blogging may be in poor taste, but i think it's probably a coping mechanism.
but i'm with you, people need to organize and HELP.

One of my LJ friends who's a photographer is going to be selling prints online with the profits going towards the hurricane relief.

He's got some info about it @ his journal.

That's what I said. He said that he wanted to contribute to the relief effort & then the idea hit him that he could use his art to help the cause.

As a fellow artist, I like that idea.
