I am pretty shocked and saddened by Anna Nicole Smith's death. When Allen told me he read it online, I thought it was a joke at first. What's even worse is all of the articles talking about her as a courtesan and such. That mess should be saved for an op-ed piece or something. The woman's dead and they're calling her a high class whore. I think the ( Read more... )

I find it hard to have sympathy for her when she put herself into that situation. She made those choices...it's not even remotely close to someone like Princess Diana where all she did was marry a man she loved and she thought loved her. Or the children born to people who are in the press. She made herself what she was.

I don't know...I think it's all overdone and with everything else going on in the world, the news should be covering stories that matter. And I'm sorry, but a former Playmate who ODed or whatever isn't it.

Well, she did chose the life she lived, but she didn't deserve to die. And I feel bad for her, because of her son's death. That's a tough row to hoe. And I agree the news talks about her too much, they have been for months, since that baby was born.

I didn't say she deserved to die. I just find her very unsympathetic. If she really wanted to get out of the spotlight, she could have done it...she chose to stay in. That's all.

In one of the articles about her, it ended with a quote of her saying she loved the attention.

I hate how she's not getting at least a modicum of respect. I don't agree with everything she did in life, but I think she was a bit of a lost little girl.

As shocking as this may sound, I actually LIKED Anna Nicole Smith. I appreciated the fact that she "made herself" who she was. We all do, she was just LOUDER about it + pursued a wealthy Texan to advance her career. I don't think she had an evil mentality + apparently she was smart + savvy about the ways of the world. I also appreciate the fact that she made "PLUS-SIZE" acceptable. There have not been many in the tabloids to whom this would apply. Kirsten Alley (whom I also like) is another who made some fame by being big. (I'm sure there are others, but I don't watch a lot of tv, so I may not know of them anyway ( ... )

i acutally liked her, too. although, i will say i liked her a lot better before she went on trimspa. i think her last weightloss caused her to be sick all of the time. and she seemed drugged out a lot. i don't know what she was taking, but it wasn't healthy for her. i loved her reality show and i thought she was beautiful.

camryn manheim is a plus sized actress. i also like liv tyler, her sister mia is a plus sized model and liv has, in the past, resisted being turned into a twig by her agent/trainers/whatever.

that is an INTERESTING thought. i always thought there was some subliminal advertising on TV. you'd see a fast food ad and then an ad for a weight loss product would air. i don't think it's coincidence.

she seems really down to earth, although there's some blogs online (i found them yesterday) that call her a hypocrite. but i think she's trying to be a great role model and i admire that.
