I'm just wondering what could make a native American start learning Russian?

I'm an anthropology student and I am interested in Eastern Europe. Plus, French and Spanish seemed so... done. I wanted something new and interesting.

Great! As a native Russian I'd be glad to help. But please remember that Russian is very very difficult to learn, so you have to spend a lot of time concentrating.
