I am pretty gutted. Very, very weak lineup. Let's start by pointing out some awesome acts that are touring at other festivals worldwide:

UM. Ok let's just start with the obvious - COLDPLAY AND KANYE HEADLINING? Are they fucking serious? I love Coldplay, they were the first band I ever saw live, but come on. They're a little ~lame~ now, and they haven't even released new stuff in forever. Kanye West is cool but is SO not suited for Splendour. It's going to attract even more dickheads than usual. Both artists are just...so not Splendour. And they're both a bit lame. I'd see Kanye i guess but fuck. Very disappointing.
As for the others, pathetic. I LOVE that DJ Shadow is playing, I was actually just thinking before the lineup release, omg how cool would it be if DJ Shadow played, I'd die, and he is! But really, I'm only excited for him, and anyone else is just...ok. Like I said, I'd go see Kanye, and maybe Coldplay again if there was nothing else on...I'd see Mogwai and Glasvegas, but I don't know much of their stuff, Pulp is cool but not like...totally exciting, The Mars Volta, Kele...all ok. It's just a really weak lineup.
And the tickets cost like $510 including camping, and that's a LOT of money. Plus travelling expenses to get there plus food/drinks etc. Godddd. So not worth it!
I'm so devoed cause I really wanted to go this year. We planned it and everything. We were going to hire a campervan for a change! Bah. So gutted.
I really want to see DJ Shadow though, he better release sideshows or I'll DIE. And maybe Kanye hahaha.
I just don't think Australia will ever have lineups like international festivals. It's so uncool. It's not like we don't have enough people to create a bigger festival - Splendour, BDO etc. they all sell out in MINUTES, with thousands of people left without tickets. If they generated a larger amount of tickets, bigger venue, more acts, it would be awesome!
But no.
