Every time I drive on Spring Cypress I get sad because I remember it when it was just a little country back road with beautiful trees on both sides. That was the nice thing moving to houston was getting on the road for the first time compared to the desolation of Midland. Now...its 4+ lanes and lots of development on both sides.
The housing tracks SUCK the worse...there is only one or two builders that put the roads in and leave all the trees and leave in as many as possible as they build the house. It costs about 1000 dollars extra per house to do it this way and those that live there gladlly pay it. The resale is just as good and the pines get to live...as well as the fluffy things that live there.

i had something like that happen in the neighborhood where i used to live. we bought our house when the development was just being built. it was off a gravel road lined by trees. i loved jogging out there!

well, they decided to put in a paved road. i thought it would be great for our property values. but instead of paving the gravel road that was already there, they tore up all the trees and built an entirely new road. wtf?!

the stupid thing is, it had to cost more money to encroach on all the neighboring farms...

*sigh*
