AQUARIUM
PAIRING: HaeHyuk
SUMMARY: He couldn't believe that a simple thing such as an aquarium could give him the contentment and tranquility that he thought only the sea could bring him.
The sea is only a vast stretch of water surrounded by white sand. But the water, with its sapphire blue color is incredible to behold. The sea is a huge nothing but blue except for the sunset when the rays of the sun splashes it's color giving it a very captivating view. It's no wonder why two certain people love the sea.
It's another great day for the couple since it is one of the rare opportunities that they get to spend quality time with each other. They've been together in this magnificent island for almost a week but they can't get enough. It had been two years after all since they last came for a vacation to this place where Lee Donghae's vacation house stood.
"Aish, I don't want to go," Lee Hyukjae murmured as he stood beside the window where he could see the mile of white sand and the transparent blue sea.
Donghae, who feels the same, hugged Hyukjae from behind and sighed as he rested his chin on the older man's shoulder. They remained in that position for almost five minutes, savoring the serenity of the place before Donghae broke the silence.
"We'll come back Hyukkie, I promise."
"Yeah. And I wonder when that will be."Hyukjae answered, slightly comforted by Donghae's words.
"We'll find time."
Hyukjae heard the finality in Donghae's voice and he smiled. It's sometimes depressing how they don't even have control of the time they spend.
He was startled when Donghae tightened his embrace thus pulling him so that he can't almost breathe.
"We still have a day. Let's go snorkeling tomorrow."
"Okay!Okay! Let me go,"said Hyukjae in a strangled voice.
"Mianhe. Are you alright?"Hae inquired in a panicked voice and quickly examined Hyukjae as he let go of him. The other man nodded but his cough sent Donghae running to the kitchen for a glass of water.
Hyukjae let out a roar of laughter but that laugh slowly faded when he saw the worried look on Donghae's face.
"Really, I'm okay Hae. Get that worry off your face. It’s making you ugly."
"You scared me, you idiot!"
The two just stood there, staring at each other and burst out laughing after a few seconds.

Two years quickly passed and the two didn't have any chance of visitibg the place again. Everytime they already set the date, another show would be coming and they would again be busy.
"Yah! Hyukjae!" Leeteuk shouted from the corner of the studio."Have a break, will you?"
"It's okay hyung! I'm fine."
"Are you trying to kill yourself? You've been dancing nonstop for three hours now."
Hyukjae laughed and decided to follow their leader. He sat down but felt dizzy so he stood again which is a mistake for he immediately collapsed.

Donghae's face blanched when he heard what happened. He immediately went to the hospital with his heart filled with worry. He saw Leeteuk talking to the doctor right outside Hyukjae's room.
"Hyung, how's he?"
"Please let him rest for a week. No shows, no travels. He fainted because of too much stress."
"Sure doc. Thank you."
As soon as the doctor left, Donghae entered the room and was greeted with Hyukjae's adorable smile.
"How are you feeling anchovy?"
The other let out a hearty laugh. "I'm fine."
"You sure?"
"Absolutely,” he paused and gave an overly sweet expression."Now that you're here".

"I'm bored. Can I go out?"
Hyukjae covered his ears when all the members shouted 'NO' in unison and flinched when they flashed him a glare. He was just actually pushing his luck and see if a miracle would happen and they would agree. Obviously, he got his hopes high. It had been four days since he got out from the hospital and he never saw anything besides the dorm. He knew taht they were just worried about him but he really was not used to doing nothing considering the fact that he is a dancer.
Sighing dramatically and putting on a pitiful face, he sat down and turned on the television.
Donghae, who sensed his frustration joined him on the sofa and hugged him. He stroked Hyukjae's back in a carressing manner silently calming him. "I want to go to that place again Hae."
Donghae was silent for a moment, "Wait here. I have to do something, alright?" Donghae stood up and cupped Hyukjae's face. He stared at him lovingly as he muttered ,"I love you."
The other man's smile radiated happiness yet he is hesitant to let Donghae go. The thought of stopping him crossed his mind but at the end decided against it. Instead, he answered affectionately."I love you, too."

Hyukjae slept that night without Donghae by his side . He was a little disappointed but as he thought of his boyfriend's busy schedule, the disappointment was replaced by worry.
"Rise and shine!"
Hearing the voice of Donghae was enough to make Hyukjae open his eyes. He was greeted with the younger man's handsome face. As he tilted his head sideward, his gaze caught sight of the magnificent view of the sapphire blue water and the fishes that always fascinated him.
Teary-eyed, he sat down and pulled Donghae for a hug. He couldn't believe that a simple thing such as an aquarium could bring him the contentment and tranquility that he thought only the sea could give him. Seeing that same color of the sea brought back the memories of him and Donghae on the island that he so treasured.
"Hae, thank you."
