Summary: Subaru stayed at the Sakurazuka family home for several days. Set after vol.16.
The Sakurazuka home was like a museum, elegant but lifeless, with a nameless someone's perfume still clinging faintly to its deepest corners; no one had lived there for years.
Subaru preferred to stand outside in the garden, under the cherry trees where petals spiralled down gracefully and he could close his eyes to feel them brush his cheek, and pretend he wasn't alone.
But when Fuuma arrived bearing a gift that was very much flesh and blood, Subaru found that pretty imaginings paled in comparison to the solid gore of reality.
Even so, after weeks had passed he went back there, just the once, to sit in the shade; but this time there was no need to close his eyes.
