Giles had looked so exhausted and by the way Xander looked at him, there was something more than meets the eye. Another secret being kept from me. I hated it. Hated not knowing. Why all of a sudden was I, above all the others, being protected? I understood the others...somewhat, but not much. No one gave them much credit really. They were stronger than they looked. Years of different hardships should have proved that very much so

I hugged her back. Of everyone, I knew Buffy would be supportive. However, there are others I am worried about. Dawn I knew used to get upset when the world turned chaos, but I doubted she would freak. I hoped she wouldn't. But the one person I did worry about...Willow. I believe I know Willow better then anyone. And no, I'm not that egocentric, I swear. But, there's a connection between lovers in general, but Willow and I...I just know Willow, even to this day. I can almost pinpoint her reactions, I just pray that the reaction I think she'll have isn't the one she will have.

I searched Dawnie's eyes for a sign of some sort of emotion.

"She could have let us known she was alive." Dawn said giving a glance to Buffy. Turning back to Tara she tried to still be angry at Tara for just leaving, but it just wasn't there. Of course if this was 15 years earlier then she most likely would have had a few choice words to give Tara.

"That makes two of us glad that you are here in one piece." A smile finally broke as I leaned forward letting my arms embrace Tara.

"But don't ever pull that stunt on us again, alright." Damn I sounded like a mother chiding her child for doing wrong.

"Sorry." Giving Tara a grin for letting the mother side of me show through.

"You don't suppose they're drawing on the walls, do you?"

"Uh..Buffy, they are 14 and 15. I think they have outgrown the drawing on the wall phase."

I embraced her like there was no tomorrow. I loved Dawnie like my own daughter. Tears threatened to spill from my eyes as I drew away from her. I chuckled at her motherish tone. She had grown up so well.

" If they are your children, it doesn't matter how old they are. They could very well be drawing on the walls," I joked, referring to the two teenagers.
