Anya is Odd

Man my forehead hurt. I ran right into the door, which was pretty clumsy. I made sure to stop by the bathrooms before heading to my room, and man was I going to have a bump and a half on my head. I bet everyone would stare at it too. Of course it wouldn't be the first time people stared at me. I got my share of that in High School. I just thought ( Read more... )

I walked down the hall, shaking my head to myself. I was still in slight disbelief at Anya's apparent denial and deception. Did I really seem so naive? Perhaps I'm no expert in the field of demons, but I know a demon text when I see one. And there have been far too many instances that provide me with more than enough evidence to suspect something is going on.

Yet she refuses to admit it. Instead choosing to pull the proverbial wool over my eyes. After going several rounds, I just let her believe that I took her word for it. The conversation was going nowhere and was becoming quite exhausting. Not to mention stressful. I would just find out what she was hiding some other way.

Taking a deep breath, I exhaled and tried to collect myself as I turned the knob and entered Janey's room.

"So.. how did it go?"I gave her a slight smile as I closed the door behind me ( ... )

Tara laughed at the tossed pillow and took her usual spot on the bed and me at the end of it. It was routine by now, plus this way we didn't have to keep passing the popcorn, she would just reach down and take it from the bag that I keep right beside me. The movie started to play and the soundtrack, which is great started to play behind the credits.

"Tank Girl? I've n-never seen it."

"Are you serious? Lori Petty? Hair cuts changing style and color all the time? A Pre-The-Ring Naomi Watts, not looking like some movie star model?? It's a classic!!"

I heard her sigh, and I knew she wasn't thinking about the various colors and cuts of Lori Petty... nor the great one-liners she has... it was Anya. It had been bothering her all week, and I knew there was a lot of tension between them, but I knew it was growing into a lot more than that. I pressed pause on the DVD just as you see that big bull cow looking thing.

"Everything okay?"

"C-can I t-talk to you about something?"I sat up out of my slouch and moved the popcorn to the side of me ( ... )
