I think it is completely normal to be able to turn your emotions on and off like a light switch. You and I share that trait. I think it is even more amusing when people think they can predict your emotions. They don't understand that you are in complete control, and most of the time will react opposing their prediction simply because they were silly enough to make a prediction in the first place so they should be messed with.
