Dad Update
Short version: So far, so good.
So the surgery which was to have happened on Friday, happened this morning. He's gone through well and is in the ICU resting. He's breathing on his own and they are pleased with how he handled it.
I'll try to see him tomorrow, but I'm fighting off a cold and really don't want to be sharing that with him.
So -- things are okay and on their way to getting better.

ION I'm self medicating with a hot rum toddy, lemon, honey, spiced rum, and hot water. Either the cold will go away or I'll just feel better.
