Kayla hoped they weren't too late - she'd asked Chris to swing by Gil's house so they could pick him up on the way.

The three of them bustled in to the diner and headed over to Clive's table.

"Hey! How's it going?"

A few minutes later, Emil and Xavier headed in.

"Hello everyone," Emil said, glad to see his friends assembled together. It'd been a while since they'd all come together in one place. "I trust you all are well?"

Gil had just settled in the booth when Emil and Xavier walked in. "Hey everybody. We're all fine, yeah. So, Clive, what's the deal? You didn't call us all here just to meet your girlfriend, did you?"

Clive smirked. "You couldn't get that lucky, kid." To Emil and Xavier he added, "How's everything?"

"Definitely interesting," Xavier said, with a chuckle. "Emil's lady friend is having a devil of a time these days, it seems."

Chris frowned at the mention of said 'lady friend', and busied himself with checking out the menu.

"Oh look, bacon cheeseburger."

A tattooed woman with a beatific smile wandered in, heading straight for the table.

"Oh, this must certainly be the place..."
