"Hm?" Wolf looked up from the paper he was reading. "How so?"

"Well, what if it's like that quiet before the storm?" Malone asked, chewing on his bottom lip as he thought about that possibility.

He tended to worry. "A bad thing could be sneaking up on us as we speak."

"So do you worry because it's out there and unknown, or because worrying about it makes it predictable and thus unable to sneak?" Wolf inquired.

[mi_malone]

"Maybe a bit of both," Malone admitted, and closed the distance between them on the couch, resting his head on Wolf's shoulder.
