The meds actually had him back out again. Which was a very good thing

The car ride to the hospital was surprisingly quiet. I guess Cordelia and I had our own thoughts to deal with... the fact that we still had our thoughts being foremost in my mind. Since when did the bad guy just wander away? Well, that and being terribly worried about Charles. Here I was a little miffed by the fact that he hadn't shown up at the apartment or the warehouse and he's lying all alone in the hospital thinking that we've probably abandoned him!

Once inside the hospital I let Cordelia take charge... well, I didn't actually let her... she was just being Cordelia and Cordelia being Cordelia was the best way to get people moving.

I looked toward the door as that other annoying nurse peered her head into Gunn’s room. After she said someone was here I sighed in relief...and possibly felt even the slightest urge to hug the woman. But I didn’t...

Gunn was out again-poor guy. I guess its better that he sleep through the pain rather than be awake through it all though, right?

Exiting the room, after both Dawn and the chatty nurse, I make my back into the waiting room. I was glad to see Cordy...but even happier to see Fred with her. She’s the one he really needed. Yup, even the out cold him. Probably more so. Finally at Cordy’s side I look up at her.

“H-he’s sleeping again...I’m sure waking up in a hospital would be a little less crappy if he woke up to you at his side.”

My eyes had fallen on Fred by the end of my sentence. I offered a slight smile...if you want to call it that.

I watched as the nurse walked back out of the ER followed by Dawn then Nikki. After Nic spoke the nurse took the opportunity to chime in. “You may see him now, though as you’ve already heard-he is asleep again.” Once that was said she retreated back to her desk.

Turning my attention to Fred I nod to the ER doors. “You go. I’ll be out here if you need anything.”

She needed to be with him. Should have been her as soon as I got the phone call...

Damn vampires and their lousy timing.

I followed the nurse out to the waiting room and saw Cordy there then another girl, who I assumed was Fred. She looked pretty nice. But now was not really the time for a meet and greet. I mean that was the first time meeting Gunn. He seemed nice to so I felt really bad for him just lying there. I looked over my shoulder as Nicole soon came out to and made her way over to Cordy. I just kinda stood out of the way.

“H-he’s sleeping again...I’m sure waking up in a hospital would be a little less crappy if he woke up to you at his side.”

Sleep is normally a good thing in situations like these. I noticed her look to the girl as she said the last bit. So she had to be Fred. It just made sense that it was her. Then that nurse said to them they could go and see Gunn now and made her way back behind that desk of hers. Least one good thing she hasn't been looking for Gunn's chart. So were off the hook for that one.

“You go. I’ll be out here if you need anything.”I think I will just wait for Fred to head in before I say anything, just because ( ... )
