Fred mumbled in her sleep. "Just... few more... sleepy." It couldn't be time to get up already. It felt like she'd just dropped off to sleep. She shifted slightly and tried to pull the covers up then realized there weren't any covers and she wasn't in her bed. In fact she wasn't actually in any bed -- only her head and upper chest were.
Blinking groggily she started to sit up and winced as her lower back complained with several sharp pains accompanied by various creaks and pops.
"Charles?" She blinked a few more times. Had he actually said something? Was he awake?
"Are you sure you feel good enough to leave?" She knew that was a silly question the second it was out of her mouth. It didn't make any difference how he felt -- he wouldn't want to stay cooped up in here. "Nevermind -- I'll go find a doctor." She stood up and tried to stretch a few more kinks from her back. "I'll be right back."
As she started out the door she glanced back over her shoulder. "Try not to get into any trouble while I'm gone." Hopefully smiling or laughing wouldn't cause him any pain. Closing the door behind her she headed toward the mostly pleasant woman at the nurse's station.

I guess that meant I rolled my truck for nothing. On the other hand, looking at her, perhaps it was worth it after all.
