OMG OMG OMFG ... ok, Harry Potter 3 ... blew my mind. I know, I know there are a ton of people out there who are like "It's so overrated and over-hyped." And I agree ... Jeff made a good point ... there's no way a book should be advertized and hyped up so much that someone becomes desperate enough to steal a whole trailer full of the new book

Definitely a good movie. Don't know if Amanda mentioned it (not sure if she even remembers considering the state she was in when our conversation was at that point) but I saw HP3 on opening day last Friday. The theater was packed and the crowd was really into it. In a way now I wish that I hadn't read all of the books prior to seeing the movies. Always not fair to hold that comparison over the movie. Cuaron definitely had a different style than Columbus. I loved the special effects. They were amazing, but I didn't feel there was as much character development in this movie. Considering this was the shortest of the 3 movies, but the longer of the 3 books...it could have been a little longer in that regard. But overall it was a blast to watch.

Actually, Amanda did mention that you had seen the third Harry Potter and thought it was good. Kind of surprised me that you guys had talked because I know neither of you were on very good terms with the other a while ago. But that was really good to hear. And as soon as the movie started, we knew we were going to love it. I didn't really mind having read the book first because I have some friends who have seen it that kept asking me questions afterwards wanting to know why certain things happened, and I had to explain. And also, I could tell what parts they had changed or taken out, so that was kind of cool. But yeah, the element of surprise was gone.
