Wish list
Ok, so I've seen this all over the place and thought I'd do it too...I even saw another girl wanting someone to pay for her to do research in N Ireland for half a year...;)
Anyhow:
Step One
- Make a post containing your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related: small ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. (You never know...)
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Here is mine then:
1) WL live in Stockholm 2004 DVD (region 2- it can also be VHS but UK PAL format)
2) return plane ticket Vienna-Dublin that I can go visit my best friend in Ireland and two of my other friends over there (it does not necessarily need to be a direct ticket and can also be via Ryanair or Easyjet, just that it is return from either northern Italy/Austria/south Germany to Dublin...)
3) any Winnie the Pooh cartoons DVD or VHS for me to give to a friend of mine
4) books on the Northern Ireland conflict, especially books on the beginning of it (very welcome on Bloody Sunday)
5) some Westlife icons and a new layout with them for my LJ
6) a mix-CD with my favourite movie songs (if you email them to me, can give you a list, but generally from chick-flicks;))
7) a boyfriend;)
8) a place to stay in Munich, Germany from Apr.1st-Apr.2nd when am going to a concert there
9) some self-made Xmas cards either by email or by regular mail
10) a poster of Ben McKenzie from The O.C. for my wall...
