LJ Idol 11 Week 8

I'd like to apologize in advance for this.  This week's topic screamed trashy romance novel to me, which I admit is one of my guilty pleasures. :)

I won't lie, I'm a sucker for a good romance story. (; This was perfect!

Thank you. I don't know if there will be another episode. I really haven't though much beyond getting off the mountain at this point.

Ow! Pun!

I'm not a romance-novel person either, but I liked this.

If you wind up adding on later, you might want to change the setting a little. There are no cabins along the shore of Crater Lake (not permitted). But the Cascades are definitely a good location for sudden, random bad weather.

Glad you liked it. I was hoping it wouldn't be too over the top.

Ha! I was just pulling names out of my head for the mountain and the lake -- they're totally fictional. There's a Crater Lake in Colorado too - where I'm sure there are no cabins. There's probably one in every state that has mountains. LOL! If anything ever comes out of this, I'll have to do my research. ;) The only thing I researched here was whether space blankets were truly effective in a rescue situation. Note: they're not.

Bummer! They're in my hiking pack as an emergency supply, but maybe that's more for reflecting back heat that you have. Once you really start to lose it (i.e., temperatures get too low), they may be too thin to do much good.

That's exactly what all my research said. They're great if you build a fire and want to reflect the heat, or if you're warm and need to keep heat in, but if you're cold or it's cold, they're useless. My husband carries one in his pack for when he's hunting, just in case they can't make it back to camp for some odd reason.
