I think that I have mentioned that my boss of 15 years passed away last September. Our company - I refer to it as “our”, but it was really “his” - is a very small energy (mainly oil and gas) company. There were only ever two employees, him and me. It made for a pretty intimate working relationship throughout the years. I knew almost everything

I have gone to so many places I never thought I would get to go to thanks to my husbands job and being able to tag along. (:

I've had some that were just a few days in a hotel room or conference center, but there have been a few where my husband tags along. Those ones are a lot more fun. :)

vacations are what you make of them ;) I can't normally write mine off as a business expense, but I know most people don't consider a "real vacation" to be what my husband and I do. But vacations are what you make of them and with the right people, they can be just as amazing as anything else.

Most of our vacations don't get written off, but on those rare occasions when I can, I certainly take advantage. When I went to Scotland a few years ago, my boss told me if I could get to Aberdeen (very big oil and gas center for Scotland), and get a meeting with one company there, he would pay for the cost of my flight. Sadly, we were so packed with things to do that we never did make it to Aberdeen.
