Amen to that! I was bullied pretty much my entire childhood, from age 5 until I finished high school at age 18, and I still wear the scars. Invisible ones, but they're there. And nothing upsets me more than seeing some kid, any kid, being picked on for no reason at all.

I'm glad that so far my son is one of the popular guys in his class and hasn't got any trouble about fitting in, but the few times someone said something to him that upset him (he once was told 'your real mum and dad didn't want you, that's why you are adopted') I nearly get into a murderous rage because I know how words can hurt.

Bullying really is never okay, I'm totally with you on that one. And I'm very glad Yang's school has a very active 'no bullying' policy, because I'd hate to see his school years become the hell mine have been.

That's just it, Lin, his school DOES have a pretty active anti-bullying policy. He told them several times about things, and was told he was being dramatic.

Which, to be fair, is sometimes the case. However, I hate that it took some serious time and effort to get her to realize it. She had to see it happening. The other point I was going to make, and didn't (damn those rabbit trails) is that an anti-bullying policy is wonderful, but often, they can't or won't do anything about this unless they SEE it. And the overworked, overburdened teachers can't see all. THAT'S when it happens.

I hope Yang continues to have good experiences.

You're right about most bullies being experts in doing their bullying unseen by teachers. But it's a shame that the teachers aren't taking your son seriously. They should, really.

I hope it's solved quickly though, because your kids deserve a wonderful time in school, and nothing less.

Many hugs! I hope you little one learns from your experiences and wisdom.

Bullying is awful :( That was my childhood, both from school and from the men my mother dated.

Many hugs!
