So! New Year's Resolutions.
1) Weight Loss/Moderation
I didn't do TOO badly this year. I don't think I was ever at my "dream" weight, but, I looked good in a Lara Croft costume, which was definitely a win in my book. Now I have to lose my holiday weight, and just keep on exercising--more for the "not getting so dizzy I fall over" benefits than anything else. (But the strength and flexibility rock pretty hard, too. Oh, and the extra energy.)
2) Keep up with my website updates
As I mentioned in my last entry, I've actually been REALLY good about that this year. There were some sites that missed a month once or twice, and some sites that had "late" updates. But considering I now operate FOUR, that's pretty goddamn good. I'd like to keep that up.
3) Draw more
I should actually compare this past year's output to 2010's. I realize I'm never going to be able to do five drawings a day like I used to be able to when I had summer vacation in college, but on the plus side, I actually have a TON of inspiration right now, so this shouldn't be terribly difficult.
4) Get out of debt
I'm ashamed to admit this because I already DID this once before--I should never have gone back in debt in the first place. But honestly, adjusting my *finances* to married life was a LOT harder than any other adjustment I had to make. (Taking our trip to New Orleans also ate up a chunk of change, but I don't regret that in the slightest. That was worth every penny.) 2010 I kept up my old spending habits by overusing my credit cards. 2011 saw me paying for that. But I actually used my Christmas bonus to completely pay off one of my credit cards the other day, which makes me feel a lot less guilty about skipping two nights of exercising this week. The incredibly long term good of one offsets the mild short term bad of the other. And since I've learned to live on a tiny budget left over after paying credit card bills, once I'm free and clear it should feel like getting an enormous raise, you know what I mean?
5) Do more photoshoots
Yes, they're unessential. But there's NOTHING that picks me up and makes me feel better than conducting a shoot. It's also part of what motivates to diet and exercise (so I'll look good), manage my money (so I can afford new costumes and clothes), and gives me material to update my websites with.
Five resolutions are pretty manageable. I'll cheer you on if you cheer me on.
