::laughs:: Figures you'd catch that! Yes, that was the original. I still remember Mom having to stand on a chair in order to be able to put ALL of her (110 lb) weight onto that damn crank to make the ice.
Until I run out of albums. Or God forbid something else happens, like I lose another grandparent. But I'm hoping to have my two remaining ones around for a long, long time.
I've got photos like that. I guess most of us do - at least those of us who have not lost them by not paying the storage bill. *sighs* - I DO have relatives like that.
I have fond memories of childhood, and bleak memories of childhood, lonely memories, and painful memories, and even some horrible memories. I also have some Styrofoam packing peanut memories, coupled with quite a few Pop-pop-popping plastic packing material memories. These memories of my life flavor that odd recipe that has become me. I have to be careful though, lest I over-season with those memories; It's far too easy to sour the taste, as it is to sour in life.
