I wonder if I will feel the same way about Australia and Sydney if when I FINALLY go back home.
At this stage, all I can think of every single day is how this place is NOT like home and how much I wish I wasn't here, but there....

I guess the grass is always greener, huh?

how did you manage to stay over there? i read in your journal that you got the same visa I did but I came home when it ended.

when I lived in Sydney it didn't feel like home, Brisbane was more homely to me I thought (with it being smaller I reckon) I think it's just because Sydney is well known for being Australian that I make the connection.

and yes, the grass is always greener on the other side till you get there.

I got my permanent residency a couple of months ago. I arrived here on a Working Holiday visa and then applied straight away for PR, which was granted this year.

It took about two years to get PR and they put me straight on a bridging visa after my application was put through, so I was able to work for as much as I wanted to, instead of being limited to 6 months.

I think I would feel more at home in Melbourne, which has more of a "European" feel in my opinion, but I guess it doesn't make much of a difference, since it would still not be exactly the same.

I probably don't appreciate living here nearly enough. It's not easy when you have nothing to compare it to though.

I hope the bad news isn't too bad!
