Radiohead "Climbing up the walls". OK it's more of a stalker song, but there you go.

If you want proper suggestions, back in my Christian days I used to be in the parish folk group and played and sang at loads of weddings so I'm sure I can come up with something. What sort of stuff are you looking for? (religious/non-religious)

Umm... we went through our music collection and chose the best songs from each (trying to avoid the most embarrassing ones but apparently failing judging by some comments ;) - we put them all on an MP3 player and hooked it up to the stereo for background music all weekend.

Couldn't tell you which songs are best, but avoid 80s cheese if you want to avoid the mocking *grin*

As far as the ceremony goes, I think we had Pachelbel's Canon and one movement from Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, plus I think Hornpipe but for some reason I can't remember who by (all cliched but still good). Heh... we also tried to persuade the string quartet to play a rendition of White Wedding but they couldn't get it to sound right so politely declined. Dammit *grin*

Depends on the style you want, I guess.

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah is a nice one for a slow set.
Chris de Burgh - Lady in Red (cliché but good)
Wet Wet Wet - Goodnight Girl
REM - Everybody Hurts
Sinead O' Connor - Nothing Compares To You
The Bangles - Eternal Flame (cliché again, but also a classic)

Tenacious D - Tribute. Just because. :D

Just a couple off the top of my head. :)

Trying to think of 'couply' songs eng_monkey July 7 2005, 14:21:36 UTC
Gothard - One life, One soul
Aslan - Crazy World
Cliff Richard & The Young Ones - Living Doll
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
Lenny Kravitz - Are you going my way?
Proclaimers - I would walk (five hundred miles)
Bob Dylan - Stuck in the middle with you
The Monkeys - Then I saw her face
Jackie Wilson - Your love keeps lifting me higher
Blink 182 - All the small things
David Bowie & Queen - Under Pressure
Nine Inch Nails - Perfect Drug
Outkast - Mrs. Jackson
The Cure - Friday I'm in love
The Cure - Just like heaven

So I got a bit carried away there...but there are a couple of songs in there that are nice!
They'd be more contemporary...

How about some more songs, including some absolute cheese?
Annie Lennox - Love song for a vampire
Bryan Adams - Everything I do...
Guns n Roses - Sweet Child of Mine
Mazzy Star - Fade into you
Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
