So you can only assume that he will reinstate a draft because of the figures you found. He wont reinstate a draft. If more people are needed then they will find people who are willing to go in. And if it gets bad enough then anyone who wants to end the wars and make the world a better place will contribute. But to reinstate a draft? no. It wont happen. thats all im trying to get at.

How do you know? You're getting information from a biased source and assuming that's true? Look at both sides before you call a person an idiot. It's not that it's going to happen - but it's not that it's not possible. It's very easy for Bush to work around Congress and enstate the draft without Congress approval, just as he had done with this war. If someone wants to end the war, they aren't going to GO to war - are you kidding? You think the same person who was picketing this war is then going to go to war? Think again, buddy.

yeah sorry for the idiot part, its your opinion. But what im trying to say is if this country becomes in deep shit and there is no draft and we in deep shit because theres no one fighting to save us your just going to kick back and say fuck that im not going to help? There are plenty of people out there who would be willing to fight. Its just a matter of finding them. And my sources arnt biased. All of those links say the same thing. yeah i know theres another side but what im reading is what came from the government not anti war radicals.

Oh, and for the most part, that isn't why I would have voted democrat, and I know for sure that's why Jared didn't do so at all.

Some people actually care about the issues at home, more than the issues overseas - but I suppose not too many people were based on the election that happened a few days ago.

Me either. I voted republican because of his business policies. I dont believe in the democratic style of economics and business. I believe democrats want to much control over who does what and where money goes rather than giving individual businesses more more rights to expand and keep money in their own pockets. Democrats are just wayy to liberal for me. What im trying to say is that i believe that there is a line between the laws that protect us and the laws that restrict us. Republicans want less laws that restrict us while keeping the laws the protect us. There are way to many laws out there that restrict businesses from growing and expanding rather than protecting them. Just my opinion.

I'm not going to fight a battle of opinions with you - but I do find it pretty shitty that Republicans hardly tax those making 100,000 a year or more, but then take 30% of my paycheck every week.

I only have 10% of my paycheck taken out. Did you file as an independant or something? And the reason is when you take 30% out of 100,000 thats 30,000 dollars being taken from it. Thats alot of money being taken away from you. But 30% of 100 is only 30 dollars. which is alot less. so with more tax cuts the little guy like me and you will have less taken out of our pay. Its life. I dont really want to fight over opinions with you either and im not going to get pissed off over this. but i have one last thing to ask. If you owned a business and were making 300,000 a year would you want 30% of your pay to be taken from you and then the government taking that money and giving it to people who dont work for it. I believe you work for you money and what i see is that democrats are working hard to put money into the pockets of those who dont work for it. and in doing that i believe it makes people week and lazy. Thats why im republican. But yeah im done with our little debate for today haha. Maybe we could talk about about it on a ride to RI ( ... )

Okay for starters, sorry Nate, but Marie is right in pretty much everything she says. What you read on those websites is government controlled and COMPLETELY biased. Of course they're going to say that there's no way that a draft will take place. Do you think their goal is to scare the entire country days after the election? They lie. That's the issue concerning the media today, esspecially on the internet. It's hard to know what to believe when reading things. In order to really understand what is going on, you HAVE to go to outside sources. Search for other countries papers, see what they have to say in regards to the war. I'll tell you now, it's totally different than what you read or see on CNN or MSNBC. The news media covers what they told to. It's a controled media form, so what you hear is not always the truth. Just keep that in mind next time you decide to call everyone idiots and then post something based on a single biased source.

Listen to 680 AM in the morning or whenever. Its a nifty talk station that covers politics in the morning and afternoon. Its pretty unbiased in everything they cover and they cover both sides. And thats originally where i heard about the "rumors". I also watch B.B.C. which is also pretty much unbiased. I would have to be pretty ignorant to say that there is a source out there 100% unbiased because hey, lets be honest with ourselfs. Everyones biased in one way or another but when you put out both sides of the story its a bit more tough to queeze biased opinions in there. But COMPLETELY BIASED? thats a bit far fetched if you ask me Savannah. But im sick of all this political ish so im just gunna end the arguments. Sorry. but hey i respect everyones opinions. I just hate to see everyone all worked up over nonsense. but do what you will.

Anyway where have you been lately? We need to hang out sometime.

Not to offend, but before you pass judgement on people and call the idiots, who is the idiot for believing anything they read on the internet, or in the news, or on television? You don't honestly think that the ruler of our country has no power over the media. Obviously the media, especially the so called "credible" sources, isn't going to speak out against him, that would be about as effective as writing a letter to their boss asking to be fired. Everyone is welcome to their own opinions, but please if you are going stand strongly by your opinion, please don't be closed minded.
Thank you.

i agree with everyone above but i'd also like to add that the supposed draft is not the only reason many of us voted democrat.
