If you need a new good MP3 player just go with Zen Creative. They replace it, no matter the warranty, for free if it breaks when it isn't your fault. And if it is your fault, they'll replace it if the warranty's still good.

I have a 1st gen Ipod I'll sell ya if you like 'em old ;)
I'm going to send mine in to get repaired by this dude on Ebay who does it for 29.99 per Ipod. If he can't fix it, he buys it for parts at the going Ebay rate.
And I don't actually think my hard drive is fucked, which would make me pretty happy if it isn't.
