Personality:
Yumi is a passionate, dedicated, and kind person. When she throws herself into something, she does it with all of her heart. There’s nod middle ground for her, whether it’s throwing herself into acting to escape the reality that her dad is dying or it’s trying to change her life by becoming more active in student council. She has a lot of love for her mother, and though she struggles with her like any teenager would, she also helps her out whenever she can.
Sometimes, however, she works so hard that she doesn’t notice things around her. She doesn’t take others into account, either; she can be somewhat selfish on that regard. On several occasions, while practicing with Souji, she doesn’t notice that practice is over and keeps going. On other occasions, she doesn’t realize how demanding she is of other people in the theater club. She also refuses to listen to her mother’s reasoning at times.
That said, she can also be spiteful; while normally social and bright, she isn’t afraid to say a girl only got her role because she’s dating the club president. She also had a difficult time forgiving her father for leaving her mother and herself, and doesn’t forgive him until he’s very close to dying and says her name with love one more time. While this is an extreme example, it can be reasoned that she does hold grudges. She is capable of overcoming this, though, and turning her life around.
Despite not being in theater from her canon point, Yumi is very bold and theatric no matter where she goes. She is not a coward in the sense of danger, though she is the type who would run and lie to herself about the truth. She’s the kind of girl who gives an ultimatum. Also because of her hard-working, driven personality, she has few friends and doesn’t really understand boys. While not socially awkward in any way (she’s more of the lonely type), she wears her emotions on her sleeves and at one point gives the kind of toy a boy would like to her boyfriend (this happens in her romantic social link! It’s part of her personality, though I’m not taking her from that route).
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: Yumi is a skilled actress. She's hard-working and doesn't do anything half-assed. She has a cheery energy about her and a bright smile, and she truly loves her family and likes to help out whenever she can. She's the kind of person who will take notes on everything, and she's a bright student.
Weaknesses: Yumi is capable of holding grudges, and she wears her emotions on her sleeves. She can bit a bit too hard-working, as others can't keep up with her demands, and she can be a bit insensitive to the times and duties of those she's working with. She can also be too dramatic at times, as she adds her own personal flair wherever she goes.

Good evening, everyone! I just thought I’d check in on how you’re all doing tonight.
So, I’m going to be in the Safari Zone soon. Would anyone like me to try catching them something? I’m planning on spending a lot of time there because of how challenging it is, so I wouldn’t mind helping out if I could! It wouldn’t be any trouble at all. Just let me know what you’re looking for, and I’ll try my best, okay? I won’t even ask for anything in return. You better, hurry, though! This is only a limited time offer.
Third Person Sample:“Huh? No, no...that’s not right at all.”
With a defeated sigh, Yumi Ozawa moved closer to Mime Jr. and knelt down next to the tired Pokémon. The day had been hard on them both already. Once Yumi had learned that Mime Jr. would evolve after learning Mimic, she had to make sure he did just that. Getting down the basics wasn’t good enough, though. Mime Jr. had to master it. After all, Yumi thought, it was going to be a big part of their battling strategy as soon as possible.
After arriving in Johto and realizing that everyone was so far ahead of her, she had thrown herself into things completely. She had slowed down some, but when it came to her partner, she wasn’t so willing. After all, they’d seen so many things together...that, and even she was finding this world hard to keep up with. It reminded her of a manga, almost, but the others had assured her that mostly everything was fine. Still, being unused to traveling and working with obviously supernatural creatures was foreign to Yumi. Everything left her confused at first, but, like today, she was quickly trying to overcome the weirdness.
Upon seeing how stressed Mime Jr. was, though, she gently rubbed his head. It could wait until tomorrow. She took a deep breath and smiled gently. She knew she needed to remember to relax every once in a while.
“I’m sorry. Here, tomorrow, we can practice Mimic again...maybe you can mimic my breath techniques, or...oh, man, when did it become so late? Let’s just find something to eat, okay?”
Mime Jr.'s eyes sparkled, and he nodded enthusiastically. With a laugh, she picked up her suddenly energetic partner and started to walk back towards the inn. She would apologize again, later. For now, though, they both deserved to enjoy a good meal and relax after a long day's work.
