I just listened to the sample on itunes, and to me it sounds like 4/4 but with a LOT of weird syncopation. I'm just about to head out the door, but i'll give it another listen, probably download it to figure it out because it sounds awesome.
First I heard... one and two THREE FOURRRR one and two three and I thought it was in 7 or switching between 3 and 4 like Nico Muhly's arrangements of Glass's "The Hours" soundtrack especially like in "Morning Passages" THEN I was listening to the microbeat and thought it was in 4/4 with weird syncopation like the above poster said THEN I kept pondering it and found myself with the same reason you posted this entry
guhh I LOVE THAT VIDEO. i really want to be able to play that song. i wonder if he has an arrangement for it for 2 pianos or something, orrrr if he expects the performer to play along to a recording of the other part with the sampled percussion stuff... god i am wayyy to obsessed with his music. he's just so damn good though!!!!!!!! methinks he's the mozart of our generation. such a vunderchild.
