I'll be in Peterborough for the show, sigh... Would you be interested in performing at a fundraiser show for the Capital Poetry Collective? We're trying to raise money to send our poets to Vancouver for the Canadian Festival of the Spoken Word, and we're doing a fundraiser on Sunday September 25th. If you're interested, email me at juicyimperfection at hotmail dot com.
I find it easier to communicate by email than by lj-threads, that's all!
The show is going to be on Sunday September 25 (this Sunday) at the Gap of Dunloe (Bank at Cooper) from 7-10pm. It'll be $5 at the door, and it's a fundraiser to send Ottawa poets to the Canadian Festival of the Spoken Word. Performers include the Ottawa Team (John Akpata, Kevin Matthews, DJ Morales and Steve Sauve) as well as Nathan Bishop (a Celtic musician who's going to be performing solo as well as doing some duos with Ritallin, one of our poets), Melissa Laveaux (who I think you know) and hopefully you!
There is a setup of several mics and a sound board at the venue. Your set would be about 20 minutes long. Are you in? We'd like to include the names of the performers on the promotional stuff that we're doing. Comment or email me to let me know if that's cool and if you're in! Because we have to get going on our promotions, I need to hear back from you by tomorrow. Thanks for your interest!
