Who says cats don't love water?

So, I have been trying to keep a tupperware thing of water on my radiator so that my room won't be so dry when the heat comes on. However, my cats (mostly Jack) seem to think that this is a new toy/water fountain for them. I don't mind that they drink from it, but I do mind when they begin to play in the water and knock the dish down onto my bed ( Read more... )

How about a plant in a dish of water? My boss just recommended that to me as an option, since the heat in my new place is drying me out.

Oh, they'd eat the plants, most assuredly :) Rather, Jack would. :)

Hmm, good point. I may have to rethink my own plan to try a plant, as I think Smudge might have designs on a plant.

I like the wet towel idea - I wouldn't worry about the towel catching on fire, we use our radiators as drying racks.

I fear that plants would make it a more tempting target, not a less tempting one...

Oh, I have a squirt gun by my bed...whenever I reach for it, they run. But they do this 'playing' in the middle of the night when I'm asleep and then I wake up to a face full of water.

The towel idea isn't bad. I tried another tupperware dish...they might not play in it if there's enough water in it...they just might think it's something to drink out of.
