your right...living a healthy life is the main point in straightedge...and your right that being drug free is good, if your out to set a good example...but my main focus is to keep myself, and my friends clean...so the reason i take on the Label of straightedge, is to form a brotherhood that we can fall back on, if the peer pressure gets tough...there is not a prollem with not wanting to associate yourself with straightedge...but once you take on the oath, by claiming straightedge...and then you sell out...thats where i have the prollem...because if i cannot trust straightedge kids to be there for me when i need them, then there is no point in this all, and also there is more to being straightedge than simply being drug free......Justin

there is nothing wrong in the bible with drinking. only being drunk. its just a nother type of gluttony, amd we should partake in moderation. we should also obey the laws of the land. so drinking when you are 21 is perfectly ok, even if you are a christian.

i can tell you that it seems odd that god says it's okay, and that you should partake in destroying his creation in moderation...Well the bible just isnt my issue...i really know nothing about it...

having a little bit of wine is not destroying His creation. neither is eating. but over eating, or abusing food, thats wrong. sex with your spouse is ok, but promiscuity and gluttony in that area is wrong. drinking wine, or beer, or whatever, to enjoy the fruit of the land, thats ok. getting drunk is not.
