As I was drifting through youtube yesterday, a chance recommendation for a video popped up. It's a video about the life and death of Neda Soltan, a young woman killed by a sniper last year during the Iran election protest marches. No, we can't forget - and I think there are probably more than 36 women out there in the world right now taking on the suffering of this generation.

This is where and how the instant communication of the world is its greatest asset: horrific acts cannot be hidden well any more. Occasionally it can go wrong (see the recent attacks on Cornell University for gential mutilation...), but the vast majority of instances prove how Knowledge Is Power: everyone knows and everyone's watching. If any of them demand an accounting, instant communication becomes an incredibly powerful instrument.
