Last night I was on my way out to dinner with some friends when I came across a baby bird on the sidewalk. I nearly hit him* with my bike, but I was going slow enough that I manage to wiggle my wheel around him without making too much contact (I don't think I hit him at all). We had had a very violent couple of hours of rain in the late afternoon

I (very) belatedly checked in with the animal hospital to find out what happened to this guy. They can't seem to find his records, though, which occasionally happens when a bird is given to a rehabilitator. So presumably he was given a clean bill of health, and by now he should have been released. :-) [From Hoss]
