Iona campaign session 1

Feeling better! ^_^ No more cough.

Started my first D&D campaign as DM tonight. Campaign details behind the cut.

The campaign takes place in my original setting of Iona, a pseudo-Europe continent. Currently, I have three 2nd-level players.

mikata_lian: Luna Tenskatawa, half-drow paladin, who wants to fight evil and settle the Western Wastes
peerwon: Lidda Tosscobble, halfling ranger, who wants to kill vermin, and lots of 'em.
arxilius: Chibo Matto, gnome warlock, who wants to earn lots of gold for a business venture, and a horse too.

The three characters started out in a tavern in Terasantia (the large holy empire), trying to find some quests. They were all hired individually by Joceline Manona, a bard who was trying to excavate a monster-infested ruin insearch of some ancient books. The four set out to the ruins, fighting some badgers on the way. They made their way in, fought off a spider, and got ambushed by kobolds. They killed off all the monsters, including a surrendering kobold that Lidda shot in the face. Joceline got her books and went off, leaving the treasure for the other three. They got a bag of holding, which seems to be the only reson Luna didn't storm off after Lidda's actions.

Once they got back to town, Chibo dragged them off to a horse fair in search of a pony. He bought one from Imad, a horse trainer and druid from the southern land of Narjanub. The four were woken up in the middle of the night by half-orc bandits stealing the horses. Chibo caught one and beat some information out of him, and Lidda tracked them back to their camp. They rescued the horses and killed the orcs, cementing a friendship with Imad. He gave them a silver token and told them that the royal house of Narjanub would aid them if they were ever in need, revealing his connection to the royal family.

Next time: Holier-than-thou clerics, hooking up with past companions, and hints of a larger plot.
