Holt is like that. I used to feel that way, but every time I go back, I realize how much has changed/stayed exactly the same and it makes me so damn depressed that I just feel like I don't have a real home anymore. 'Cause, let's face it, Mt. Pleasant is never gonna be home.

My mom was talking of moving to Florida for a while, plans seem to have changed, but I think it's still in her mind as an ultimate goal.

I think the strange thing about Holt is... there's so many people that long for that to stay the same, and yet they're the thing that lets it change.

I'm not sure how much of it changed because of my absence; a lot of what changed seemed inevitable.

But memories of what Holt once was ... that was home to me. Unfortunately, they're just memories now and I have trouble finding even parts of Holt that truly feel like home.

I think the quote defines my sort of nostalgia very well. And really... you wouldn't have to put your name after it, it could just be the quote. Then when people ask who said it, they'll be more impressed.

holt is badass. i feel that way about the enire lansing area, because i've grown up in so much of it and been through everywhere constantly... it's like, it's a festering decaying shithole, but... it's our decaying shithole.
