I see what you mean; it's always risky putting in a swear word when we've never heard the Doctor swear - I put it in there because I saw the Doctor on the edge and it kind of sneaked in there. I wanted to kinda shock the reader with how poorly Donna was. Hmm....

Now to think about the second part. How does one solve the inflammation of a metacrisis? I'm glad you like most of it though! xxxx

Really interesting; I'm looking forward to seeing what develops here, both with them and Donna as they try to sort out something to save her.

Thanks for your comment! I don't know how long it'll be until the next part though, but I'm very glad you like it.

Oh Doctor!!

I agree with the comment about "fucking pale" - it really jarred me.

I really put the Doctor through a lot don't I? At least now he's sort of opening up to Martha, his family can come through for him.

As for the 'fucking pale' comment, it's sort of meant to jar the reader, not to completely disrupt the story but to keep a sort of focus of the danger Donna is in. It's a bit experimental, but it's bound to jar when Doctor Who is played out without any swearing at all. I hope it didn't ruin the story for you :)

Well I finished reading the story, so no it didn't ruin it.

Aww, this is so heartbreakingly lovely! I love the quiet little moments between Ten and Martha, dealing with the sadness and worry hanging in the air in regard to Donna's situation and dealing with their own issues with one another.

You also have some really beautiful moments in there as well, such as:

There was the soft flump sound of a coat hitting the ground. Or maybe someone was throwing in the towel.

and

His memory had to be perfect. He had to remember for two people now, and was going to need reminders, mementos, facts. (*wibble*)

and

...setting the DNA steriliser to maximum and passing it through a binary-binary-binary-binary-binary-binary-binary- (such a sad reminder of Donna there)

and

Knowing, that for some time there’ll always be someone to visit. Someone for the regularity after you’ve reversed the polarity.

I really hope that you continue this as I would really, really love to read more! :)

Hey, thanks so so much for commenting.

I was so glad that I managed to write what I wanted for you so long ago :). I just wanted to write a fic that cleared all the air between them, that takes in all the awkwardness they may feel. I'm also dead glad you noticed the line 'Someone for the regularity after you've reversed the polarity' it popped into my head, unbidden, as I was writing it.

As for continuing this, I'd very much like to. I got a few ideas about how to write it, so I'm writing it longhand atm as I still don't have a laptop. (It's possibly for the best as I'd be constantly on it otherwise and not reading books). Anyhow, your review has really brightened me up, cheers.
