Oh, why did you read Twilight?! (no judgement, I swear! I've been half-tempted to read it so I can rip it to shreds, lol). Aaand fangirling is certainly a sport, it does involve a lot of action, hahaha.
You know, the whole Twilight thing is so strange... I'd stumbled across it on Amazon a while ago, before it became this "thing" in fandom, and I read the first couple of pages and thought, "Yeah, I'd read more of this." But the only copy they were selling at the time was hardcover and I wasn't paying that much for a book I wasn't that sure about.
Fast-forward to when it became a "thing" in fandom and I came across a paperback copy for a couple of dollars and decided to give it a try. I swear, there's something weirdly subversive about it: I can absolutely agree with all of the criticisms about the writing and, worst of all, about the disturbingly obsessive relationship between Bella and Edward and about Bella's characterization (both of these even more so in the later books than in the first). And yet... I wanted to see what was going to happen. So even though the logical part of my brain was saying, "Geez, what are you DOING still reading?" I kept going because I wanted to finish to find out what was going to happen! O_O

Lol, I understand. Trash can be frightfully addictive! The closest I've got to it in book form is in chick-lit, just to pass an hour in brainlessness. I remember reading a passage of twilight and I laughed because it was talking about his poloneck that highlighted his beautiful body, and that was just him sitting down. I thought it was really funny! It's a shame it couldn't just stay a blip on the radar though instead of the omggosh madness it's swept up. xxx
