Unlike his roommate, Jen was far more cautious of where he stepped, trying to avoid anything that snapped underneath his feet in case it attracted any unwanted attention from the inhabitants of the forest surrounding the Lake of Seeing. With Terriermon on his shoulder blinking curiously at the holographic map projecting from his armband, he nodded towards Roxas.

"Let's go."

Roxas answered with a nod, and plunged in through the small opening into the depths of the forest, a sort of natural tunnel that led into the open space of the forest's innards. He glanced around, fascinated; he had never been inside the forest before. A small smile crept onto his face as he began to explore as he walked, nearly forgetting the purposes of their trip

After a while, Jen turned off the hologram map since it didn't have any records of a pathway through the forest. He didn't like this, but it was to satisfy both his and Roxas' curiosity, so he couldn't really deny the tingle of excitement running down his spine.

He winced and rubbed at his ear when Roxas set off the owl thing, watching it fly off overhead. Looking out the corner of his eye, he saw Terriermon with an ear perked, as though listening for something.

"Terriermon?"

"We've got company, Jen!"

Roxas blinked, startled by the little bunny-dog's shout, and poised himself into a fighting stance, Oathkeeper at the ready. All went still for a moment, just before there was the crackling of shattered branches as something dove in through the canopy, tearing through the trees at Roxas. He rose his head just in time, and brought Oathkeeper up to combat whatever had just hurled itself at him.

When he looked up, his line of sight was filled with the open jaws of a dragon, red-scaled, leathery purple wings beating furiously. Its claws gripped Roxas' weapon threateningly, and in one quick motion, it pushed the teen to his knees, pressing relentlessly on Oathkeeper.

"Get out!!" demanded a shrill voice in Roxas' head, just as the creature reeled back, and knocked Roxas aside with a swoop of its claw. The boy tumbled across the ground, finally falling onto his back. He choked, stunned, and, unable to maintain Oathkeeper's form, the weapon disappeared from his hand.

"Ignorance!! Vile ignorance!!" shrieked the voice again, and Roxas
