mom and i were looking through some of my grandma's stuff, looking for the ring that i'm supposed to have that's been passed down to the Valerie's since the 1800s. we then came upon some stuff that my grandma saved, such as her poems...
"Remember?"
Do you think of me
as I think of you?
What thoughts does your mind go through?
Are they of pleasure, the good things shared
Or are they of hurt that could have been spared?
And when I cried, you held out your hand
The look on your face said "I understand"
And in your pain I too shared
I was there, I really cared
And of the good times, a hundred and one;
the happy hours, oh it was fun!
But then it came, our paths to part
we both knew from the very start
It had to be, this was true
And now my memories are still of you
"In like with You"
The warmth of your smile,
the color of your eyes,
makes me feel all tingly,
fills me with sighs.
I like being with you,
for hours on end,
and when you say you'll call,
I wonder when.
I can't help but marvel
at your charm and wit
at the way you dance,
or how your clothes fit.
Do I love you?
I know not if it's true,
But this I do know
I'm in like with you.
"Why Friendship"
What do you want of me, my friend
Why did we meet?
When strangers we've been.
I knew not of your being
before this time
Of our meeting
Is there reason, or rhyme?
What can I offer you,
What can I give.
Will I make your life
a little better to live?
And you to me;
What shall I recieve
Wisdom, joy, sadness, grief
a new way of life, a new belief?
There must be something;
A reason why.
That we come together
Before we die.
