[Day 12 through 13]
There is no doubt that a sea voyage, which refreshing, does not take long to wear thin. Gwendal and Murata spend the afternoon enjoying the fresh breeze from the foredeck, occasionally waving cheerfully to a grim-faced Huber or scandalized Gunter. Their bodyguards mostly keep their distance. Until the summons for their evening meal, the pair go through a whole afternoon without speaking to another Mazoku. It's a pleasant lull between storms.
After dinner, they watch the sun set over the sea. As darkness descends, they are quite happy to retire to their cabin; and as Gwendal jerks them off together with long, slow strokes, he thinks that perhaps the ragged huff of Murata's breath against his neck and the slight dig of fingers in his shoulders are among the most exquisite sensations he has ever encountered, or perhaps not. The basin seems awfully far away when he contemplates cleaning them off afterwards, and so he wipes them down with an anonymous sock that one of them had abandoned by the bunk. Not a good habit to get into; but tomorrow they will be in Dai Shimaron, and if presenting the palace maids with a pile of filthy laundry is a small, petty revenge for the invasion of his homeland, it's the only vengeance he dares exact while their enemy holds his brother and niece.
He wakes first, on the morning of their arrival in Dai Shimaron. In spite of his best efforts at silence, the Sage stirs when Gwendal goes to wash and dress himself. It's surprisingly easy to move around each other, even in the confined space of their cabin, and soon they are both ready to go up on deck and watch their destination sweep towards them. He goes for a stroll through the markets of Neidin while the crew unload their horses and the box. It seems unwise to stray too far into human territory, even with a sword at his hip, and he soon returns to the ship, but not before finding a blue crystal that had somehow been grown into the shape of a horse to gift Murata with. The genuine smile on the Sage's face is enough to put Gwendal in a good mood for most of the ride to Shimer City.
