sorry, to clarify, i know you detailed the shortage in your letter, but seriously, it's been really sold out for a long while.

They started to sell on the internet and their phone line on Wednesday or Thursday, and they sold out in less than 24 hours. It has not been "sold out for a long time," they sold out the day that it was announced. But that wasn't until the middle of last week. I know this because I found out about them selling them and waited for Melissa to come home from one of her evening things and by the time she came home they were sold out. But, seriously, if you don't keep up with the internet gaming community you would be completely in the dark about those cables, how do they expect consumers to know about this stuff? Plus, them selling out is part of the damn problem I address in the letter, without actually straight up saying it, I meant to imply that they were essentially treating HDTV owners like second class owners, and that's just not cool.

I'm actually REALLY upset about this. I've put up with a lot of crap from Nintendo but this takes the cake.

i guess it's just that i never assumed that HDTV owners would be a priority for them in the first place, as they're still pretty set on their seniors-and-kids strategy. so basically, your letter saying that they're treating their HDTV owners like second class customer is exactly the message i got from them from the get-go. but it doesn't hurt add your voice to the crowd. i just half-expect them to write back with a big "DUH!"
