i'm hoping that some of you will help me out with this semester long research project i'm doing. my hypothesis is that men are less likely to try on clothes than women. my theory (right now) is that it is either because they don't care as much, or there is some social stigma about men and fashion.

here's where you (hopefully) come in!

I noticed that my boyfriend generally doesn't need to try on clothing. Men's pants, for example give waist and length measurements. It's not a fuzzy issue like with women's clothing. I mean what the hell is a size 8 anyway? The size standards (and cuts) vary a lot more in women's clothing, thus necessitating the dreaded fitting room.

Andy, hott boy. I am going to post here(because I am lazy.) Express men, Gap, Target, and I am not too sure about the rest of where I shop. I enjoy shopping with friends. I don't like trying on cloths, because I am lazy.

The Gap, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, Nordstroms, Sears, uhh ... shit, Victoria's Secret, um ... I don't know many other clothing stores. I just buy clothes at The Gap.

I'm male, as you know ... and I usually shop alone. I don't know why that is. Maybe your project will come up with a good reason for why men shop by themselves? Hmm.

I try not to patron large department stores. I get my army pants from Doughboys Surplus and everything else is from various thrift stores. I usually don't try on pants or shirts because I can tell if they'll fit. I can wear from 34 to 40 waist and inseam from 32 up, so I usually don't need try on pants. Shirts, you can just tell if they'll fit or not.. if it's a button up, I'll try it on. I usually shop with people cause I'm too lazy to make myself go.
