[CHARACTER INFO]
CHARACTER NAME: Bolt
FANDOM: Bolt
CHRONOLOGY: During movie, after he is captured by animal control
CLASS: Hero
SUPERHERO NAME: Bolt the Super Dog
ALTER EGO: Bolt

BACKGROUND:
Bolt is a six year old white German Shepherd. When he was a puppy he spent his time attacking his favorite chew toy, Mr. Carrot in a small pet shop. Penny, a kind young girl, came to the store and picked him out from the other dogs, and thus began his adventure.

Bolt spent his life battling the evil Green-eyed man, saving Penny from the many nefarious traps and minions who served the mastermind. Penny’s father had been kidnapped by the Green-eyed man, and they were on the run from him. Penny’s father had altered Bolt, giving super powers. Bolt was given super speed, super strength, heat beam eyes and the super bark, a bark that created sonic damage.

For many years, Bolt and Penny battled successfully against the Green-eyed man, though they were unable to free her father from his tight grasp. They evaded missiles, minions with sharp electrified claws, and all sorts of dangers, until one day when the Green-eyed man finally managed to capture Penny.

Panicked, Bolt found himself suddenly captured as he tried to chase after Penny, only to escape from his imprisonment and run out in search of her. Attempting to break through a window, he knocked himself out, collapsing into a shipping box full of packing peanuts. The box was shipped from Hollywood to New York City, where he awakened and made his escape.

Not realizing that he was a TV action star, Bolt went in search of a cat, whom he assumed had connections to the Green-eyed man. A trio of pigeons who had helped him slide free from a fence, directed him toward Mittens. He captured her, and Mittens submitted to his threats, agreeing to help him find where Penny had been taken. Bluffing the oblivious Bolt, Mittens directed him to Hollywood, only to find herself an unwilling prisoner along on his trip.

After reaching Ohio, Mittens accidentally dumps a box of packing peanuts on Bolt, and he panics, jumping out of the van they’ve snuck into. She uses the packing peanut to manipulate Bolt into doing as she says. Together, they approach an RV park when Mittens realizes they are both hungry, and teaches Bolt how to make cute faces in order to earn food from people.

At one RV, they come across Rhino, a hamster who recognizes Bolt as a TV star on the ‘magic box’ and fans over him excitedly. Mittens realizes who Bolt finally is, and why he believes he has super powers. Fearing for her life, she tries to talk Bolt out of many life-threatening actions, such as jumping onto a speeding train from a bridge. Bolt does not heed her warnings that he does not have super powers and continues forward, luck his saving grace.

After they fall off the train, Bolt attempts the super-bark Mittens out of a tree, to no effect. He does successfully gain the attention of animal control, and they find themselves captured, and put into the holding containers in the truck. Bolt still believes he has powers as he attempts to ram his way through the door using his head, practically knocking himself out. It is this point at which he is brought to the City.

PERSONALITY:
Bolt is the definition of loyal, gladly braving the threat of the Green-eyed man’s minions to protect Penny, his human. He has little fear of anything at all, and believes that the threats to his live and Penny’s life are very real. He takes everything very seriously, trying to be always vigilant as he works to protect Penny. He does not have any problem putting his life on the line for Penny, and is daring and willing to attempt most any stunt at all if it will achieve the necessary results to complete the mission.

Bolt is also naïve, believing he does indeed have super powers. Even though they cease to work once he reaches the real world, Bolt insists that something has been done to him, and ‘discovers’ that packing peanuts nullify his abilities. Bolt has never really had super powers, but this is the logic according to the world he knows. In the city, he will find that he has managed to keep some of his powers.

He has never really known what it is to be a dog, and his only knowledge of it stems from what Mittens has taught him. Currently, that is limited to making ‘cute’ faces at humans to beg for food. He is completely unfamiliar with normal dog behavior, including sniffing other dogs, playing fetch with items other than Frisbee-shaped ‘bombs’ and even playing. He is driven to do his duty, and sees little need for other things in life. He is used to being provided for, but in return, provides safety and security in the form of an powerful and vigilant guard dog, and companion.

POWER:
Human Form - Being a dog in his normal life, Bolt will be given the ability to shift between a human and dog form. His dog form is his default, and he will retain the ability to speak to humans vocally, as well as retaining his ability to simply bark.

Super Strength - Bolt is given super strength which allows him to achieve such feats as holding a car over the edge of a bridge by his teeth and toss it a good 20 feet. This skill will carry over to his human form.

Super Durability - Bolt is super durable. His favorite thing to do with this ability is to put his head down and use his full abilities to turn his body into a battering ram. He can take out large, speeding vehicles, brick walls, and steel plating.

WEAKNESS - Styrofoam - If Bolt comes into contact with any Styrofoam, whether it’s a Styrofoam cup, packing peanut, or other such product, he is stripped of his strength and durability for five minutes for every item that touches him. The maximum time for this effect to last is 24 hours. Any injury he sustains during this period will need time to heal, just as any injury on a normally mortal being would require.
Considering that Styrofoam is used in many applications and composition varies greatly, the limit of such products is listed here:
Styrofoam cups
Styrofoam packing peanuts (non-biodegradable only)
Styrofoam cooler
Styrofoam molded materials (such as those used in boxes as a more rigid styrofoam protection)

[CHARACTER SAMPLES]
COMMUNITY POST (FIRST PERSON) SAMPLE:
[Bolt’s nose is right in the camera of the communicator. Only his angrily squinted eyes are visible over the black nose and white fur.]

Where’s that cat? I swear if I get my paws on her, she is going to pay for this! She was supposed to lead me to the Green-eyed man, and now I’m back where I started!

I will rescue Penny. And when I do, oh, when I do, I will make him wish he’d never crossed me. He can have all the talking computers in the world bring me back to this city, but he can’t keep me here forever!

LOGS POST (THIRD PERSON) SAMPLE:
Bolt uttered a feeble whimper as he crawled inside the cardboard box, escaping from the rain. Perhaps Mittens had been good at teaching him some things, such as reasonable locations to get out of the rain. At least it was warm, so he didn’t shiver as he gave a solid shake, clearing enough moisture from his fur to feel comfortable again before flopping to the ground. He could feel his stomach growl, and he wished he knew where to find an RV park to make silly faces at humans for food.

Thinking of humans reminded him of Penny. He couldn’t hold back the low growl that came from him as the image of her being whisked away by the Green-eyed man and his cats filled his head. He would rescue Penny, no matter what, and then he would take his revenge on the Green-eyed man. It would be satisfying to finally bring an end to his evil reign, and be free to live with Penny and her father.

For the time being, he was weary, exhausted, and needed to rest. It was a strange sensation, to feel so weak. His growl died away as his eyes slowly drooped, when an ear suddenly perked in the direction of something, no, someone padding nearby on quiet paws. He peeked out from the box and saw a cat in the alley, sifting through a trash can. He was exhausted, but he couldn’t let this opportunity walk out on him, and if he were discovered, he couldn’t let the cat get away. Silently, he padded up to the trash can. As the cat poked its head out at him, he took a flying leap, carrying the cat a good distance through the air, and pinning her to the floor with a yowl. The dog tags draped loosely around his neck jangled loudly as they clattered on the ground next to him.

“Where is she?!” He demanded, a horrible feeling of déjà vu coming over him, when the cat simply mewed back up at him. He blinked, surprised, before shaking his head as he tried to clear the grogginess. “Where is the Green-eyed man?” He demanded, and again he was rewarded with a simple meow. Something was wrong with the cat, for some reason it couldn’t speak to him and he backed off, thinking perhaps he’d injured it. The second pressure was off of the cat, it took off, escaping from Bolt before he could force his weary limbs into motion. With a defeated sigh, he trudged off into the rain again. The location had been compromised, and now he had to find a new location to secure, and get some rest before he started to search again for Penny.

FINAL NOTES ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:
Bolt’s lightning bolt is a permanent mark on him as of his arrival to the city. While a dog, it appears normally as a black bolt along his left side. As a human, it appears as a black tattoo on his upper left arm.
