I think this is awesome!

I have one question, though. When I tried this out for myself...every time I added a layer, everything around the eye (other than the eyelashed and eyeball and such) would get whiter and whiter and whiter...how do you make that not happen so that you still have all the definition of the face/skin around it?

If I understood this correctly, I suggest that you should just drop that step out. It's not that necessary. :)
