_ic: oshitari kenya
_age: 18
_race: vampire, class b (aristocrat)
_powers: empathy

_personality:

From a young age, Oshitari Kenya was groomed to move in the upper echelons of the vampire aristocracy. For his parents, it was simply a very practical endeavor and one meant to aid the Oshitari family's own advancement in society. Their child was, after all, talented, striking with his blond hair and blue eyes, and, most importantly, gifted with the ability to read and control the emotions of those around him. Thus, Kenya's childhood was spent steeped in tradition, a rigorous and well-rounded education, and instruction in the fine of art of empathic manipulation.

Unfortunately, of all his lessons, the one that struck the deepest chord with Kenya was the fact that even those closest to him could be the most guilty of trying to use him for their own benefit. And his parents have proven no different in that regard.

Kenya quickly lost interest in playing the games of vampire society for his family's benefit, and now only does so when and if it amuses him. He frequently bucks familial traditions, argues with his father, and makes no apologies for his rebellious streak. While he can be perfectly charming, Kenya is more often self-confident to the point of arrogance, outspoken in his opinions, and difficult to get close to. A lifetime of his family's machinations have made the blond wary of the motives of those around him; he is disinclined to trust easily, and his loyalty is hard-won.

The only person that Kenya is truly close to is his elder cousin, Yuushi, and it is only because of Yuushi that Kenya has even agreed to attend Eclipse Academy.

A shared room?

Oshitari Kenya made a small snort of distaste as he stood in the doorway for the dormitory room that would be his home for the school year. The sheets of the far bed were slightly rumpled, the pillows askance and dimpled. Text books and papers were strewn over one of the desks, and a quick glance into one of the two closets only verified that Kenya did, indeed, already have a roommate. Lovely, the blonde, dropping his messenger bag onto the untouched bed.

At least he had arrived while his roommate was absent. It was after sunset; the headmaster had indicated that the Night Class was already in session when Kenya had arrived, though since Kenya's train from Osaka had taken longer than planned, the blond wouldn't join his classmates until the following evening. That suited Kenya just fine. He could unpack and prepare himself for this whole roommate-thing. Maybe get some peace that he hadn't been able to find on the train.

But first... The blond dumped the rest of his luggage on the floor near the bed and pulled out his phone, flicking the screen with his fingertips to wake it. '⌈i’m here. your fault. cut class & come help me unpack, lazy ass~.⌋'

There. That would be enough to get his favorite cousin's attention.

_comments:

Kenya's control in his empathy lacks in one area: shielding himself from emotions in groups. While he is fine one-on-one, in large (excitable) crowds, the pressure can become overwhelming and cause headaches. He will stick close to Yuushi when this happens~.
