Has anyone paid for intarwebz stuff with paypal lately?

I bought 2 things from ebay and paid for an event and there's some weird 5 day check clearing period i had not previously seen.

I emailed their customer service, but I'm putting 0 faith in acctually getting an answer

do you have a "confirmed address" with paypal? this is usually done by having a credit card on file as well as a bank account, so they can cross-reference the address. it's a security thing... also, if you pay with a paypal "e-check," it takes time for that check to clear, just like a normal paper one would. it might also have to do with the person/account you bought from - i think they need to go in and accept the payment before it can be finalized. every time you've paid me for rent and stuff via paypal, it's taken quite a while for the money to clear...
