One that you may not have heard about yet is the Arepa Lady, who sets up a cart in Queens on Roosevelt Ave between 78th and 79th streets around 10 PM (sometimes later, sometimes not at all... check her MySpace) on Friday and Saturday nights to sell her arepas, Colombian griddled corn cakes. Apparently these are the stuff of legends; the founder of chowhound.com says they're some of the best food in the city.
