This and "Sebastiane" are the only films I know of that feature actual Latin dialogue. My father the Latin prof refused to go see "Passion" - I hope to loan him Sebastiane some day. I kind of enjoyed it; it's less completely strange than Jubilee. (Apparently I can only take Derek Jarman in relatively small doses, though Jubilee does have some fabulous moments.)

It was kind of fun to be able to pick out Latin phrases and also match up Aramaic with what might have been corresponding Arabic roots.

It eased the nausea, anyway.
