Come the first Monday of February, I will return to the ranks of the gainfully employed. Save a week in December working for UPS, I've managed to scratch by without a job since mid-August. Go me. Well, considering that he's been looking over the Wisconsin analysis quals lately, Stanford shouldn't be too much of a jump between now and then.

It's called Epic Systems--they make software for health care companies.

As for the qual...it's tempting, but I need to brush up some on my real analysis. I'll let you know if I'm ready in time. ;-)

The half hour of the hearings that I saw was just painful. I pretty much agree with this take on it.

That is a fantastic article, thanks for the link. I've been wondering if there was any writing out there on how such nomination hearings should be run, the types of questions asked--and that addresses the notion that a justice should simply be a neutral interpreter of the law.

Also, where do you find this stuff? I have a vague recollection that I've read things you've linked to in the past that have also been very intelligent, well-reasoned, etc.
